Ingredients Apple pie with lemon sauce

  • 4 ounces (100 g or about 1 c.) Cake flour
  • 4 oz (100 gm or 1 bar) butter or margarine
  • 4 ounces (100 g or about 2/3 c.) Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Pinch of allspice
  • brown sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • 2 large apples Bramley, peeled, quartered and thinly sliced

Directions:
Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Sift together flour and allspice and mix in the butter mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold (bread) with a detachable base.
Pushing the apple pieces in the mixture in a circular pattern and sprinkle the top with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Bake in a (350 degrees) or moderate oven gas mark 4 for about 40 minutes until done.

ingredients:
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 1/2 pints (900 ml or 3 c.) Water (including lemon juice and grated)
  • cornmeal 3T (corn starch)
  • 3T sugar
  • additional lemon juice
  • Sugar
  • Nut butter

Directions:
Mixing cornflour with a little cold water and mixing to a smooth paste with sugar 3T. Juice and grated peels of 2 lemons and add water to equal 1 1/2 pints.
Heat water to boiling lemon and slowly added to the slurry of cornflour, stirring all the time until it is thick. Add a little butter and mix well. Reheat if necessary.
Serve hot cake with lots of lemon sauce poured over the top.
